Crunchyroll and Funimation NEW Partnership - What Does it Mean?
On September 8th 2016, Funimation and Crunchyroll announced that they are going to be working together to provide more anime content on both their platforms. Instead of splitting content between the two, they will now share a platform. Crunchyroll will specialize in Subtitled Anime that releases the same day as it is aired in Japan. Funimation will be releasing an English Dub 2-4 weeks later.
I outline my thoughts about the cooperation and what it could imply about the future of Anime in the West.
