Welcome to my introductory video into Crusader Kings III modding. This is just a cursory glance behind the curtain as I've had very little time to really grab a hold of the specifics thus far!
The first half of the video will cover the basics of Crusader Kings III mod making, ranging from the new Mod Manager within the CK3 launcher, to the new mod tools and distribution integration, allowing you to much more quickly and easily create and share mods. I also cover programs that I find essential in Crusader Kings II and III modding!
Afterwards, I show an example mod I threw together, allowing for some pseudo-random characters to be generated and the ability to start the dynasty fresh with a new head dynast just to give a very brief example of what can be achieved very quickly, simply, and cleanly in the CK3 scripting language.
Finally, for more advanced users, we dive into the mod files, and some base game events, where I highlight key changes I have found in my brief time reverse-engineering the game which set Crusader Kings II and Crusader Kings III apart.
For new or beginner users, the second half might get a bit overwhelming, but don't worry, it's much easier than it looks, and I intend to make some part CK3 modding tutorials in the future when we have some documentation ready!
(And a bit more experience with the game!)
