Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is another, after Counter-Strike: Source, attempt to refresh this popular shooter, which started as a Half-Life modification. Despite the passage of years, the philosophy of the game has not changed - we are still dealing with a team action game.
Opposite are two teams - terrorists and special forces trying to stop them. For each eliminated opponent, we are rewarded with cash, for which we can buy better weapons and equipment at the beginning of the next round.
There are four game modes in the game: Arms Race, Demolition, Tournament Simplified and Classic Simplified. The first is a variation of the classic deathmatch - after killing an opponent, we get a new weapon. The second is governed by a similar principle in terms of receiving new equipment, but the fun is divided into rounds, as in the classic modes. The third, as the name suggests, is intended for beginner players and its task is to introduce newcomers to the secrets of Counter-Strike, including by giving up friendly fire. Classic tournament mode has been stripped of all amenities.
There are five de_ (defuse/plant bomb) and two cs_ (hostage rescue) maps available in CS:GO. Each of the seven boards is modeled on classic battlefields known from previous installments of the series. Fans will surely recognize the names of the individual arenas: Dust, Dust2, Aztec, Nuke, Inferno, Italy and Office. Of course, there were some minor changes, but they only serve to improve the quality of the game.
The list of available weapons has been extended by several items. The eight new tools of destruction are the Molotov Cocktail, Decoy Grenade, IMI Negev, Tec-9, Mag-7, Sawed-Off, PP-Bizon, and Taser. The last gadget is especially interesting - it is expensive, but it allows you to kill an enemy with one accurate shot.
A refreshed matchmaking system has also been prepared, which selects opponents according to their skills. In addition to servers maintained by Valve, we may also host our own games.
