Helms Deep is the first Lord Of The Rings map from the previous Counter-Strike installations that makes its appearance in CS2. It's gone through a few patches as it hosts a number of technical events that caused crashes under specific circumstances. Now, it's finally working as it should, and players can make the final run without worrying about a server shutdown.

It plays pretty much the same as in GO or Source, but the ladders for zombies still break too early. This should be patched to have much more HP or take a lot more bullets before falling down again. It's become so problematic that zombies just ram the gates altogether and don't use the ladders at all. Also, some timings are much faster than before, like the final defense before entering the fort sometimes doesn't even take more than 10 seconds. Some of these balancing issues will likely be fixed in upcoming versions, but I'm happy to report we're slowly advancing into porting the slightly more technical maps, with this one being a promising new entry for the future.

Helms Deep remains a classic among classics, one that everyone should have played at least once in their lifetime. Have fun!
