Showdown is also one of those really old maps from Source that's been in my memory and nostalgia for a long long time. It's never been the most exhilarating map, but it did the job at the time and was played quite regularly before the larger maps started taking over. It was one of those easier, more relaxing maps without too much drama going on, and was nice to play for a change.

The CS2 version is quite funny, because it is somewhat buggy. Humans who spawn on the left side can just jump up the walls at the start, which is actually something that should have been a feature all along! It will, however, put the humans who spawned on the right at a disadvantage as the ones who climb up the walls will trigger the gate early, most likely trapping the other half of the team and forcibly let them get zombified. Everything else about the map is still original, including the very long ending.
