FNATIC BENCH FLUSHA; SCREAM TO STAND IN AT ESL ONE NEW YORK

Robin "flusha" Rönnquist has been benched by fnatic, with Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom set to stand in for the team at ESL One New York, the UK-based organisation have announced.

The move comes after fnatic's elimination from the FACEIT Major, where the Swedes placed 9th-12th following losses to compLexity, Natus Vincere, and HellRaisers in the New Legends stage, with the organization missing out on a Major's playoffs for the first time in CS:GO.

flusha, historically known as one of the best Major players, recorded his worst performance at a Major in London, averaging a 0.82 rating over seven maps played in the second stage of the tournament.

In a press release, fnatic explained that the recent results made the organisation "begin working towards a revised team culture" and also "moving towards instilling a new sense of stability in the team."

"We hope to establish Fnatic as the world-renowned name in Counter-Strike that we have seen before and towards which we believe we should always be striving," fnatic wrote.

"As such, flusha, a legend of Fnatic and Counter-Strike in his own right, will be taking a place on our bench as we review and explore his future."

ESL One New York, which will take place from September 26-30, will be ScreaM's first tournament since attending the Europe Minor with the ex-EnVyUs team LeftOut, who have since disbanded.

The Swedish team have been drawn in Group A, along with Natus Vincere, mousesports and Gambit, with their first match pitting them against Chris "chrisJ" de Jong's side.

fnatic's lineup for ESL One New York will be:

Jesper "JW" Wecksell
Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson
Richard "Xizt" Landström
William "draken" Sundin
Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom (stand-in)

Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom (born July 2, 1994) is a very successful Belgian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player and former Counter-Strike: Source player of Moroccan descent. He began to play Counter-Strike just for fun and never thought he would reach such a high level. After paying attention to some tournaments going on at the time, he began to strive to play in big teams. With a couple of lucky invites, and after being accused of hacking several times, he found his way onto several teams like VeryGames, Titan and Epsilon eSports. He recently played for Team EnVyUs.

Robin "flusha" Rönnquist (born August 12, 1993) is a Swedish professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player and former Counter-Strike 1.6 player. He is regarded as one of the most consistent players in the scene, known as the cornerstone for his team as well as a star player with the ability to carry his team to victory. The Swede joined Fnatic in late 2013 and has since then won a total of three Majors as well as numerous other premier tournaments. Currently he is an inactive member of Fnatic.
