Hope you all had a good Memorial Day weekend. On the way home from my trip, I got to make a quick stop on the Peninsula Sub just outside of Providence Forge, VA. The leader was fantastic! I finally caught my first CSX SD40-2 leader! I know I catch a bunch of them leading yard jobs, but I don't count those since they are only remote control switchers. I know I also caught one leading a short office car special train in the meet with the juice train, but I don't really count that either since it's not leading freight cars. But this was sweet! I caught one leading a local! H775 travels from Newport News, VA to Richmond, VA on the former Chessie System line. I think I got a pretty good shot of the train coming up the hill! Sorry for the shakiness, it's not easy to hold it completely stable when you're zoomed in far. This area has a cool WC-Hayes crossing as well! I was happy that CSX chose the SD40-2 to lead this local! Better yet, they put the GP40-2 in the right place-behind the SD40-2! I was pretty happy to catch my favorite EMD locomotive on point of this EMD lashup! Enjoy!
