There are 3 ways to take a shot in Cue Club 2:
1) Set the power from the power-bar on the shot setup menu and click the 'Play' button
2) Draw back the cue and release like a catapult (automatic method)
3) Move the cue forwards and back and drive through with the mouse (manual method)

*Method 3 is very natural, you will probably like that the most :)
