To unlock Chalice Mode mode, the player must use the Astral Cookie to defeat every boss in the game as Ms. Chalice, including the DLC bosses on Inkwell Isle Four. This can be done in any mode with or without a second player, as long as the boss is defeated while someone is playing as her. Talking to the Cactus NPC before doing so will remind you which bosses have yet to be defeated, and she will update the tally marks around her campfire as you defeat each one. After defeating every boss as Ms. Chalice, the player must then talk to the Cactus NPC again, who will unlock the feature. The visual style can be toggled in the options menu.
