For this edition of Survival maps... I figured why not play my favorites? I thought about it long and hard... so here are so of my favorites for various reasons...

Fan Feast
Pros
+ Some of the best detail work I have ever seen
+ MANY custom textures and models
+ Unique ways of alerting the horde
+ Interesting concepts
+ Fully functional games
+ Big area
Cons
- Not the best navigation
- Some areas were not thought out in terms of gameplay
Final Verdict
100/100
As a mapper myself... the quality of this map is far beyond anything I would except someone to do... it is incredible how well it is all made... so yes... so score is going to very bias on this map in particular...
I am not going to deny it has its own issues... nor am I going to deny this was not really build with "best gameplay experience" in mind... but in my mind the pros of the map more than make up for any short comings this map had... and if anything... it is just fun to look around...

+ One of a kind map
+ Map forces you to move
+ Unique map design
+ Has an ending
+ Custom models
+ L4D1 survivor backup
+ Huge tower to jump off of... you know you have done it ;)
Cons
- Miss it's old L4D1 style of map

What can I say... if you have not played it yet... then go play it...
My only true complaint is how you can't explore the whole map before beginning... don't get me wrong... I love the mission object type style gameplay enforced on this map... but having free rein to go wherever you want and hold anywhere is what I loved about the first one...
so yeah... next map...

White Prison
Pros
+ "Portalish" design choice
+ Choice of difficulty
+ Many different elements
+ Supplies everywhere... yet balanced
+ Great music if you choose hard mode
Cons
- HORRIBLE Optimization (in other words... runs terrible no matter what)

I love this map... it has a great design, many areas to hold, supplies are balanced well, and the map design looks to be designed in mind of both survivors and infected... but the fact that the framerate is so bad... it ruins the map for me... I have to play on lowest settings for it to run well...
It is a shame really... should a fun map... hopefully one day the authors can improve the optimization...

Ice Breaker
Pros
+ Well designed
+ A not-so-overused theme
+ snow
+ Good navigation
Cons
- infected spawn before you even hit the radio
- some areas are very small despite how they appear

I believe this was a contest entry for the Winter theme contest oh so long ago... the contest that Freezer burn won...
Either way... this is a well designed map... good aesthetics and navigation... runs much better than the map above for damn sure... but there isn't much that makes it stand out from any other survival map... it might be well done, but it is really nothing more than a well made "survival" map... I have no real complaints about it, but at the same time I can't really praise it either...

Slope
Pros
+ Snow
+ Very open but still not that open...
+ A working chair lift
+ Have to make it alive to the good gear
Cons
- I know it is a sky slope... but it still feels a tad bare

I was going to have a different map in this one's place... but in all honest... that map deserves it's own episode... so Slope will be the place holder...
An older map Slope is... but it has aged very well compared to some maps of the same age... it is well made in many regards and fun... and the threat of instant death is a very realistic thing when on an elevated slope...
Also... on an interesting note... I had no idea that chair lift worked prior to pushing the button... which is also why for the most part... the video is me riding it... :3
