At the age of 24 Ken Sturdy landed on Sword Beach with the men of 41 Commando Royal Marines.

He was a signalman with the Royal Navy tasked with sending vital messages back to the ships in the Channel.

Now aged 94 he recounted 6th June 1944 to Rebecca Ricks from his home in Torquay.
