Electromagnetic Field 2016 Hacking conference
#hacking, #hackers, #infosec, #opsec, #IT, #security Electromagnetic Field is a non-profit camping festival for those with an inquisitive mind or an interest in making things: hackers, artists, geeks, crafters, scientists, and engineers.

A temporary town of nearly three thousand like-minded people enjoying a long weekend of talks, performances, and workshops on everything from blacksmithing to biometrics, chiptunes to computer security, high altitude ballooning to lockpicking, origami to democracy, and online privacy to knitting.

To help matters along, we provide fast internet, power to the tent, good beer, and amazing installations, entirely organized by a dedicated team of volunteers.
Over a long weekend, you can expect to see a huge variety of talks across three stages, a slew of workshops, as well as music, games, and installations dotted around the site.

At previous events we've heard talks about everything from genetic modification to electronics, blacksmithing to high-energy physics, reverse engineering to lock picking, computer security to crocheting, and quadcopters to brewing.

Talks and workshops start at midday on Friday and last until the Sunday evening. Gates open at midday on Thursday, giving you plenty of time to get onto the site and set up your camp. You can stay until midday on Monday so you can enjoy the festivities on Sunday night.
Electromagnetic Field (EMF) is a non-profit UK camping festival for those with an inquisitive mind or an interest in making things: hackers, geeks, scientists, engineers, artists, and crafters.

To get an idea what EMF 2018 was like, you can view the list of talks, workshops and performances and see recordings of a number of them on our Youtube channel. If you are inspired by the past content, please consider giving a talk yourself or running a workshop this year!

The campsite will also have a number of villages, where those with something in common can camp together. Keep an eye on this wiki, and pick a village to join, or start your own.

At each EMF event we give our attendees a programmable badge. In 2018, attendees received a MicroPython enabled TiLDA Mkδ. Information about past badges including TiLDA, SiNE and our next badge can be found here.
