D&D Party Composition How Important is it Really?| D&D Player Tips
There has always been character roles in D&D. Originally some was expected to play the thief, cleric, fighter, and wizard. Later MMO's would redefine these party roles as tanks, DPS, and healer. Wizards of the Coast then tried to adopted a similar strategy for it's 4e D&D game with controllers, strikers, tanks, and leaders. The RPG community completely rebelled against this even though it kind of made sense. Those same people that rebelled against it still probably clamor for a certain party composition in their own games.
