I sorely wished Danger Scavenger was far better than it currently is. You know me. I love twinstick roguelites, and while Danger Scavenger offers some fun and challenge in bursts, there are multiple other factors that made it fall flat, for now.

When I initially tried to stream it, graphics options were utterly broken. They were set to Ultra, and setting them to Potato did nothing. The gameplay and shooting feels good and fine; the enemy telegraphs and the visual feedback at low health obstructing the screen is not. There also doesn't seem to be much semblance of progression outside of unlocking weapons and characters, for what is self-billed as a roguelite. Other than the aesthetic, Danger Scavenger honestly doesn't really bring anything new to the table.

The most egregious fact about the whole affair is that it was originally a full release, but was changed to Early Access. Yeah, nope. While I'm not lambasting the switch, it means that this was originally the full game...and it just is not good enough for that.

But hey, at least I did get further playing on Potato quality rather than the always enforced and stuck higher quality settings.
