Dante's Inferno: - Statue Puzzle Skip at Heresy (Speedrun Strategy)
Skipping the Statue Puzzle at Heresy for a speedrun, using the "climbingness" glitch to skip a decent chunk of this area.
Points of Interest:
1. Sometimes when you are behind a grapple wall (so climbing on it from out-of-bounds), there are some collisions that surround the grapple wall that stop you from getting proper "climbingness" (in other words, the collsions keep you trapped to the grapple...even while out-of-bounds!)...
2. ...However there is a way to escape the confines of these collisions that try to trap you. Firstly you need to press R1 until you are at the base of the grapple wall (yet still climbing). From there you need to quickly alternate between pressing R1 and pushing the left controller forwards so...(quickly alternate) R1,L-stick (forwards), R1,L-stick (forwards), R1,L-stick (forwards) etc..
Doing this will make Dante no longer be trapped within the wall's confines and he can escape and have proper "climbingness".
3. While air-climbing...It's possible to make Dante not only climb left/right/up/down...but some collisions cause Dante to "glide" backwards of forwards with varying speeds. I've had Dante fly off incredibly fast backwards (I'll include this in a glitch package at some stage). But in this vid you might notice that Dante "glides" backwards ever so slowly.
4. I found a second way of skipping this puzzle, it's more interesting but slower. I'll also include this in a glitch package soon.
5. I've yet to see how much further I can take the climbing glitch in this area, it seems promising.
6. There is a bizzare glitch in this area! If you do things in a specific wrong order and then die..........on restart..........the game teleports Dante back to the start of the game!!!! Not all the way to the start, but to the later section of "Florence" where he fights some fire minions and then talks face to face with Virgil. Tho Dante still keeps everything that he had before being sent back to the start of the game.
I did this glitch 3 times consistently (of no use, but REALLY strange!) I tried to play on as normal, but the crank at the first bridge at "Shores of Acheron" had no R1 prompt. Also to be included in a glitch package.
