Dark and Darker with Plot! (Trying Out Dungeon Stalkers)
0I played Dungeon Stalkers on and off in their live playtest last November 28!
Didn't expect it to be VERY hard; mostly due to my lack of affinity with the genre.
It is an extraction game much like Hunt: Showdown, Escape from Tarkov, but mostly Dark and Darker (but with a plot 😉).
It is very clunky with its movements, admittedly, but it could prove to be one of its charms if everything else gets polished.
Moving through tight spaces and battling monsters while being wary of other stalkers makes the game very tense. Add to that the Witch's Curse that makes dungeon exploring harder (OR EASIER!) as time passes by.
This is honestly too hard for me alone. It is best played with friends or with great patience. Every run lasts at least 10 to 15 minutes. Every death means losing all the loot you picked up in the past 5 to 10 minutes.
There are different stalkers, game modes, and missions you can choose to mix things up. Although they matter very little at the very core of the game (it is still dungeon exploration).
I've yet to complete a run or unlock a skill. I'll post something as soon as I get one of those done.
