#AbandonwareAdventures is a format where I find a good old game that is no longer for sale and play some of it. These are often PC games from my childhood that have been abandoned and I think need to be looked at again.

How to play #DarkColony:
1. Download the game from https://archive.org/details/DrkColny (This link has changed since I last installed, this version might install differently. You probably need a virtual machine running Windows 98 or XP. BUT ALSO, it seems the license owner for the game has been taking down download links, so they might be planning to sell the game on GOG or something soon)
ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS in case you got an older download from somewhere:
2. Mount the ISO and install
3. If you are unable to install, extract the contents from "Dark Colony Installation.rar" and run the exe from there
4. Run the game from the install folder, the dc16.exe file
I actually am able to play the game on Windows 10 without any compatibility modes or special software but some parts of the encyclopedia crash the game and you can't Alt-Tab out of the game without it crashing.
