The families, albeit having lives of their own, are connected to each other through various generational links. As it is a science-fiction series, time travel is at its heart as the families vie for power over its control. The three central characters are Jonas, Claudia, and Martha. Those three are stuck in a cycle of tragic events as they seek to travel back in time to change the course of events. That is where the first season begins. The members of the main families discover a wormhole within a cave, allowing them to time travel. The families go back into the past, but with that comes consequences, as major secrets are revealed. Moving forward to the second season, the families take it upon themselves to find their loved ones. This includes those who have gone missing within their timeline, but also the past to which they have traveled. Events become complicated by the arrival of another character named Adam. The former has created a cult in order to perfect a world without time travel.
