Fittingly in a game about a world of death, we can’t stop talking about ancient Nickelodeon programs. Remember Inspector 34?? Remember Mr Dink? Remember how Pete & Pete season 3 on DVD got cancelled forever? Perhaps Nick and Kyle's beloved Dark Souls is an apt metaphor for the nostalgia we can't seem to put down, doomed to sacrifice ourselves time and again at the altar of imperfect memory to stoke the fires of those halcyon summers where all we had was time, and you could find the shades of our former selves basking in golden light as they guided their bikes in droves down the street in blissful perpetuity. As the sun hangs low on our lives, their long shadows wash over us from the horizon, and we begin to feel the chill of darkest night that urges us to stir those embers once more until there are none left.
