[Dark Souls] How To Beat The Hydra (Darkroot Basin)
313The most annoying part of this battle is actually getting to the Hydra itself, as there are 5 Crystal Golems scattered around the field in front of the Hydra. It's wise to lure each of the Golems out further away from the Hydra, or using the Hydra's own projectile attack against the Golems.
After defeating the Golems, run in a zig zag pattern close to the Hydra; changing direction each time it fires its projectiles. When you're close enough, the Hydra will use its multiple heads and crash into the ground near you. Be careful not to get too close to it as you will fall to your death. Look closely at the ground in the water to determine how far you can actually go.
Its melee attack can be easily blocked with a shield, and it becomes a matter of damaging all its 7 heads until they fall off.
The Hydra is worth 5000 souls and drops the Dusk Crown Ring (Grants extra sorcery castings, but halves HP) and a Dragon Scale
