I begin by warping to Firelink Shrine, heading to the Moss Merchant, and buying some more Homeward Bones from her. Then I head to the Undead Parish to give Andre the Large Divine Ember. I have him upgrade my Divine Claymore to +9. Then once I'm back in the Tomb of the Giants, I head in the opposite direction to areas yet explored.

Deeper inside the tomb are quadrupedal skeletons that I call Irregulars. These enemies are total BS. They can attack so quickly and rapidly that you don't have enough time to shield or dodge out of the way. The best way to deal with them is to cast a strong spell at them, and then finish them off with one more physical attack if they survived. Randomly they seem to survive an extra hit which can get you killed unexpectedly. I don't get it. Your attacks should do the same amount of damage every time if they hit in the same spot or in the same way. What's with this randomized damage crap?

There's another Black Knight in the tomb as well. I deal with him well enough. I continue forward to the second Bonfire of this area and I fully Kindle it. I collect all the goodies along the way such as the Effigy Shield and the Silver Covetous Serpent Ring. I manage to kill the Bone Totem ambush with a cast of the Fire Tempest spell. The ring is pretty useful because it increases the amount of Souls you receive from killing enemies, but I hardly have a reason to use it anymore. I also get invaded by Paladin Leeroy. Strange that someone who would help you against Pinwheel now invades you in the Tomb of the Giants. I deal with him and reload my game to get the Crystal Lizard. The narrow ledge can be quite perilous, but if you know the enemy spawns, you can plan your moves ahead.

Speaking of Pinwheel, the final area before the boss is filled with copies of him. Maybe these were stray copies that went rogue and were left behind? They aren't difficult to deal with. The bigger problem is the pool of water at the bottom of the area. As long as you stand in the water, Baby Skeletons will continue to spawn infinitely and can inflict Toxic on you. The area is completely worth it, though. A White Titanite Slab can be found here. After getting it, I warp back to Undead Parish to have Andre upgrade my Divine Claymore to the maximum power of +10. I'm now ready for the fight against the next boss. I head back to the Tomb of the Giants to face Gravelord Nito.

Gravelord Nito, despite being an intimidating bone colossus monster, is actually one of the easier bosses to defeat in the game. The most difficult part of the fight is the start of it. Nito will slowly make his way over to you all the while his Skeleton minions will attack you. If he is far enough away, he will keep using an attack that sends a blade up out of the floor into you. This move is very difficult to dodge, but if you can tank the hit it doesn't matter. You could avoid it by rushing up to Nito yourself, but then you might get overwhelmed by his Skeleton minions. It's much safer to wait for him to come to you.

Once he does reach you, he attacks with simple sword swings which are super simple to move out of the way of. Sometimes he will grab you with his left hand, but it's easy to break free of his grasp before he even has a chance to damage you. He also has a large area of effect spell attack, but you can avoid it by either shielding it or getting far enough away. Other than some wonky hitboxes, it's just a simple boss fight. I wish they made shielding from his attacks more necessary. After defeating Gravelord Nito, I grab the Paladin Armor set, which is actually Paladin Leeroy's. It only shows up if you defeated him in his invasion attempt. I then fully Kindle the Bonfire that appears after the fight.

I exit the game after warping to Undead Parish. I feel a lot better about this playthrough now that the Tomb of the Giants run was a complete success.
