In the first Dark Souls, we find the world in a dire state. The Age of Fire is fading. Our protagonist is one of many beings cursed with undeath and locked away in an asylum. It looks like we are gonna rot there for eternity, but fate has a different plan for us. After escaping from the asylum, we arrive at Lordran, the land of the ancient lords, where our arduous journey begins in earnest… Aside from the introductory cutscene, that’s the synopsis ;)

Now then, is it one of the greatest games of all time? Smarter people than me can make that call. Is it difficult? Absolutely. Is it fun? Sure feels like it, but only because I am committing one of greatest heresies — I am guessing — possible in the eyes of true, tryhard fans. And honestly? I want to beat the game, but I am not going to let myself be hardlocked for hours. My time is limited, so I will make things easier for myself :) As always, sit back, relax and enjoy! Dark Souls is a 2011 action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Namco Bandai Games. A spiritual successor to FromSoftware's Demon's Souls, the game is the first in the Dark Souls series. A port for Windows featuring additional content, known as the Prepare to Die Edition, was released in August 2012.

A remastered version of the game, titled Dark Souls: Remastered, was released worldwide for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows in May 2018, and for the Nintendo Switch on October 19, 2018. The remaster was ported by the Polish studio QLOC, whereas the Switch version was ported by the Singaporean studio Virtuos. All rights belong to their respective owners.
