12Get ready to descend into the darkest and the pits of despair as we venture into the Darkest Dungeon, a dungeon crawling rogue-lite that has you exploring the ruins and surrounding area of your ancient family estate with your ragtag party of adventurers.
Thankfully one of the latest patches has got rid of the bug that kept causing the game to crash so I can finally bring you our first impressions on Red Hook Studios brutal little dungeon crawler. Pulling influences from a whole host of sources, like the roguelike permadeath, random drops and procedural generation from games like Spelunky. Base management and turn based strategy from games like X-Com. And some demonic creatures that feel like they are lifted straight from the pages of H.P. Lovecraft. All this is brought together with simple yet punishingly brutal gameplay and in a gorgeous comic book art style.
