Darksiders II (Deathinitive Edition) playthrough Part 1
Shorter episode today for a few reasons. I had to restart the stream as it was overloading the encoding at 1080p/60, (gonna bring it down some tomorrow, 720p/60 instead of 1080p/30). And I have something this afternoon, a side-stream to be in for the game club.
Darksiders II. Another one I am going into blind. That really does like to bite me in the rear at times. I expected the wrong genre from the previous game, but did end up liking it. And then right off the bat this one changes things up. Instead of being closer to a Zelda game (so far anyway), it has some more Diablo-style elements to it, in particular the loot drops. Oh joy, because that's a mechanic all games need, something to make you waste your time in menus picking through gear all the time. On top of that, we've got a focus on parkour, another crazy that I wasn't a fan of. It leads to unrealistic level designs where environmental attributes are based on your abilities. Honestly my biggest complained in Doom Eternal as well. Those sections generally aren't that fun, yet game developers seem to insist on wedging them in.
