Darksiders II - Free Game with Gold - October 2014 [XBox 360]
0I really wanted to like this game, but it just didn't click for me. If the programmers took the parts that worked and used them in a combat arena game I would be interested. If the programmers were hired to make Dark Souls III and give it a faster pace than the previous two games, I would be interested.
Pros:
-boss battles
-stalker battles
-some of the music
Cons:
-menu navigation
-artwork that does not match a dark fantasy story
-the lead character is so overpowered from the very beginning that there is little reason to learn new skills
-the story is erratic enough that I wondered if Death were in a coma and experiencing a complex dream
-weak dialogue
-the Makers couldn't decide if they were scottish or irish
-I immediately named the horse Epona because those mechanics are too similar to another franchise
-the climbing and combat are distractingly similar to yet another franchise
