Dave Thanks Front Line Workers
Hi everyone, Dave here, and I wanted to THANK all the essential workers out there at the forefront of this crazy time we live in. Recently my grandmother passed away due to COVID-19. She was 95 and lived a long, good life and left behind a legacy that I'm proud of.
The pandemic didn't really sink into to my reality before this happened. It felt very surreal and almost movie-like. It felt inconvenient and weird at the time. I've definitely experienced my share of restlessness, cabin fever, boredom, and uncertainty throughout this unprecedented and historic period of time. Then a few close friends of mine got Coronavirus and then it became more real. Then relatives of friends started dying. Then my grandma got the virus and a few short days afterwards passed away. This certainly changed my perspective of what was happening.
We at MWG don't get into politics on the channel. We purposefully stay out of all that commotion and focus on this fun hobby that is miniature tabletop wargaming which helps to mentally escape us from the brutal, unforgiving realities of this world. The purpose of my post isn't to put blame on anyone or to rant. I'm posting because I felt it was important that we show our gratitude towards the workers who are out there, every day, in the midst of all this. The workers who put themselves at risk for the sanity, health, and betterment of us all.
A good friend of mine (Kevin Gibson) put this compilation together for us and I thought it was appropriate to share with you all. It certainly reflects how we feel as a team. We want to acknowledge and support all those who are frontline workers, stuck at home, unemployed, sacrificing time away from family and loved ones, and working hard to assist our fellow human beings who are more at risk or elderly. This video is simply a THANK YOU from us.
History will remember you as the heroes of our day. You may not be fighting on the tabletop as soldiers in a battle rolling dice, but you ARE fighting this insidious threat that has literally taken our world by storm.
Please show your support to those you know who are front line workers, especially if they're fellow wargamers, and SHARE this video with them. We hope it brightens their day. And to those of you who are frontline workers, we hope you can feel the love of this video for we are forever in your debt! Keep on keeping on.
