Welcome back to FFXIV, friends and lovely viewers - and welcome to Dawntrail, the new expansion that's been taking all of us XIV veterans by storm! Since Dawntrail is meant to be the start of a fresh arc for our Warriors of Light, I've decided to change things up a little from how I've approached previous expansions. To keep it short: I'm going solo this time instead of playing the MSQ exclusively with Sagi. I'm maining one of the new jobs instead of my beloved red mage. And I'll be streaming the journey! (I wasn't streaming seriously when the last one launched.) I'm not used to having an audience for my favorite game that tends to get a little personal with its punches, but you'll get it all, folks: the laughter, the tears, and whatever else happens with the plot.

For this session, I hopped on to try out one of the new jobs (viper) and join my friends for some FATE farming while we leveled to 90, so the only spoiler present should be the introductory VPR quest. It's also a great chance to observe the chaos of millions of people trying to play an MMORPG at once during early access launch, complete with multiple-hour queues to get in and play. Future VODs won't have this awkward startup time where we have to play other stuff. I knew this was gonna be rough, but I wanted to capture the FULL experience... good, bad, and ugly.
