You can beat Iris without actually hitting the robot, so you don't have to deal with those pesky drones.
Here is how you do it :

1. Before you fight, get a critical low health that can possibly kill Zero in one hit. After Zero says "It's not over yet!", get hit once again. You don't have to empty your RAKUHOUHA bar.
2. Enter the fight, then immediately climb up to the most top left wall. The reason why we need to get a low health is because it will reveal the weak point IMMEDIATELY, so you don't have to hit the robot eight times.
3. Let the robot move slowly upwards.
4. After there is a gap, immediately drop down and dash underneath it. This will give you a huge free space.
5. Once Iris use the laser, be aware because Iris will shoot horizontally first and followed by vertical shoot from Iris' weak point.
6. Hit the weak point.
7. Go to the most right corner. Iris wouldn't be able to hit you.
8. Repeat step 5 until Iris dies.
9. Done.

I'm not sure if it's easier, but it's good to know that you can fight Iris in this way.
