In this video, I'm taking a deep dive into the 2019 Sony exclusive "Days Gone." I'm trying to determine whether woke critics really destroyed the game, or if Bend Studio (of Syphon Filter fame) actually messed up and made an average game that simply couldn't compete with titles like The Last of Us, God of War, and other Sony exclusives.

I would argue that everything that went wrong can be explained by poor timing. They simply missed the zombie craze that the Walking Dead in 2010 ignited. People were starting to get tired of zombies in movies like World War Z and games like Dead Rising and Resident Evil. If Days Gone had been released in 2015, it would have been a massive game, possibly even game of the year.
