Daytona USA 1993 - 2011 (A race through time)
(If people start watching this before I get a chance to add any annotations in - the reason the PS3 version looks so grainy is because I can only do video capture from it in SD via an RGB cable. Normally in HD it looks every bit as good as the Model 2 Emulator.)
This is an idea that I've had before, but I knew I could make a better version of it now and also in widescreen and in 60 fps. 7 different versions of Daytona USA played in the order in which they were released as if it were an 8 lap race on the beginner stage.
After I'd already edited all the laps I was going to use I suddenly remembered that the Dreamcast version of Daytona USA actually came out after both versions of Daytona USA 2, which meant I had to have a quick re-arrange of the order they play in. That's why the DC version is out of sequence, lap wise, with the other videos, but it does mean that the games are in the correct chronological order.
I'd previously included the excellent Saturn version of Daytona USA: Champion Circuit Edition in the old video I made like this. I decide instead to use the Windows PC version of Daytona USA Deluxe in this video. It's more-or-less the same game, only with slightly higher-res graphics, a few more options (such as being able to set what time of day you race at) and an all new exclusive PC only level. There was a special netplay version of this game that came out for the Saturn in Japan (I don't think it ever got a Western release), which also had the extra options of the PC Deluxe version, but not the extra stage - Silver Ocean Causeway.
