Released in 1991, this game was developed by Imagineering and published by Acclaim. Imagineering was a New Jersey based developer who is mostly known for great titles like the original A Boy and His Blob, and bad (weird) games like Home Improvement. They closed their doors in 1995. Acclaim was one of the biggest video game publishers in the 90’s, known most famously for the Mortal Kombat series. Not all juggernauts last forever, as they closed their doors in 2004.

Bart vs the Space Mutants is the first Simpsons game released for home consoles. It was released on both the NES and the Genesis, among other consoles, but these were the versions we played. We are going to focus mainly on the NES version, as the Genesis version is mainly the NES game with updated graphics.
