Since it's a simulator, and we have other stuff to do with our time (like doing dishes and washing the dog,) we want to get up in the air as quickly as possible. One mistake I made was turning on the fuel boosters too late. You should do this before starting up the engines, not after. Also, once those engines are going, you can shut down the APU and APU generator.
