This is a comparison with and without motion compensation. Deej pointed me in the right direction. Though I use SRS, I needed to install the Yaw game engine and then the Yaw tracker addon. With that enabled it works well with SteamVR/SRS/OpenVR Motion.

You can assign Hotkeys in OpenVR to toggle MC on and off and recalibrate.
