This video shows how I started the simulator DCS using OPENXR to avoid using steam VR for a performance boost and FPS increase, and also how to fix the black screen happening in the headset while trying to start DCS with OPENXR.
I'm using the HP REVERB G2 headset

Download the
OpenComposite Launcher

Download the
DLLs files 32-bit and 64-bit
test them both

the file name is openvr_api.dll

copy and drop one at the time in your bin folder inside DCS world.
start with the 32-bit one.
launch DCS with the DCS.exe inside the bin folder.
if it doesn't work, copy paste the 64-bit file
repeat the process.

I DIDN'T NEED TO DO THE CLEAN INSTALL OR THE REPAIR FOR DCS.
it worked without that step for me.
