Since quitting at the bugged Lifeguard Tower last time, when I loaded that save I was at the tower but it was all messed up, the building was closed, the truck was there, an armored car was there, and there were two gates, the one that opens normally and another gate that was always closed in the exact same place.

So therefore I tried to load the last saved game and that got me this - the prologue but with my levels and my complete inventory. However when I tried to get past the prologue, the elevator trapdoor would not work. So i started a new game and skipped the prologue so I could jump straight into coop but alas that was completely non-functional this time.
