After making the video, I found out that a chainsaw may be located inside the Dead Zone during the quest "Genre: Horror Slasher" you get from Dave in the Flooded Jungle. You might also be able to purchase a chainsaw from one from Nora, a survivor located by the Military Base that becomes available after the "Militarized Zone" quest.
The chainsaw I used in this video are located at the very end of the game. It can be picked up after defeating the final boss.
One more thing you probably need to know is that having the chainsaw equipped drains it's durability, meaning that you should be having a different weapon in your hands while looking for zombies.
The chainsaw can be repaired at a workbench to make it last longer.
