With the Dead Island sequel doing pretty well, I figured this would be a good time to share an opinion I have had since the launch of the first game. Dead Island was released to a pretty divided fanfare. It seemed you either loved it or hated it, and I couldn't help but notice a lot of fans of the fifth Elder Scrolls game, were ironically negative towards Dead Island. At first it was just a passing interest, but after putting a hefty amount of hours into both games recently, I found that they were a lot more alike then I had previously thought. Today I take a look at how similar these two games are and try to figure out why one was Skyrim was given a free pass for flaws that Dead Island was ridiculed for. Will I be able to convince you?
