Dead Space 3 (2013) First Playthrough + Thoughts on a Remake | Chapter 04: "History's Ember"
I went into Dead Space 3 expecting it to be the ‘awful, franchise killer’ I’d heard about, but in the end enjoyed it a great deal. Sure, it’s not survival horror in the slightest — I’d describe it more as pulp action horror — but it has some great worldbuilding and the story is, for the most part, well done. Yeah, there’s some melodrama and Hollywood-style big budget set-pieces, but they didn’t ruin anything for me.
Unlike the save system, which sucks. Not saving properly for optional missions messed me about several times and added probably 3 hours to this playthrough of the game.
While the ending is vaguely sequel-baity, the death of Dead Space means that there’s no Dead Space 4 to come, but it looks like the Dead Space 3: Awakened DLC might have some kind of conclusion to it. Haven’t played that yet.

NOTES:
►I'm still working on improving my audio balancing in Davinci Resolve. It's a different process to how I used to do it all in Premiere Pro.
►I have a high tolerance for cheesy writing and melodrama. Your mileage for this stuff will vary. I don't agree with the comments I've heard about Ellie being "relegated to a damsel in distress", however.
