The hive mind has a more detailed higher poly model with more detailed high resolution textures. The appendages on its backside flail around like tentacles instead of looking and moving like segmented insect legs, like they did with the original hive mind. The hive mind calls in smaller less-evolved necromorphs to attack its prey midfight. These new phases and attacks make the hive mind more of a threat this time around.
