I think this game crashes like once per hour, I have to run it on admin mode from the exe and I have like 2 mods helping it out. Still I had to adjust settings to put it into windowed mode a few times to get past certain spots in the game so it wouldn't crash.
Anyway, the director of the game swears he's never seen twin peaks, even though this game takes place in a similar setting and the basic plot follows the same beats, at least at first. The characters also all fall into very similar archetypes from the lynch & frost show. The story does go off on its own after a while into a weird mess, but yeah, you can see the inspiration easily.
The game does a lot cool things, I like all the little activities you can do in this little gta type game, but mostly I like the weird characters and cutscenes. The gameplay itself is just ok, you shoot pretty easy monsters in 3rd person. The plot of course isn't good for the right reasons, more b movie type stuff. I liked the whole experience, but don't pick up the steam version; I think the switch version was the most stable?
