There are so many version of this level throughout the history. Many of those versions are quite similar to each other but I was shocked when I learned that this level had been updated and nerfed down a lot! I mean there’s even a completely new part at the end of the level! And when I say new, the last dual is completely different from before. After beating the “new” rated version I was disappointed. I think the level is better now but the old version was something quite special. However! I found the older version which I originally beat on Ruf’s account and decided to rebeat that too. So here they are, two different versions of “Death Note”!
To my surprise the new version took me 59 attempts and the older version 54 attempts. The new version is more balanced and nerfed down overall, but then at the very end there’s the new dual (87%-94%) which is where most of the level’s difficulty comes from. The older version is harder overall and then there are two choke points. 44%-46% wave is very tight and then of course there’s the infamous 70%-76% mini wave which is absolutely ridiculous.
So in conclusion I think both of these levels are practically the same. The older version is slightly harder I think but it’s also less enjoyable. Not that there was any fun to be had with these levels to begin with. No matter the version, I think these are overrated. Just because of one or two difficult parts in such a short level doesn’t make it Insane Demon to me. Or then those parts had to be so very very difficult. But I think that’s not the case. This is a good example of horrific legendary iconic level.
