I never thought I’d see this day. A new hardest after almost a year. The first actually insanely difficult level on record for real. I started playing this even way before I beat “Bloodbath” on 8.5.2022. I have to admit it was fun at first. Practising and getting further and further into the wave parts after every hundred attempts or so was fulfilling and satisfying. It was all good. Fun and games. A silly challenge...
Then after couple of months of playing I accidentally got 29%-100% on my laptop while talking! Even after that I didn’t believe I could do this. Then I got 60% playing from 0%. I never took this level seriously because I knew what it would mean. I’m just that kind of person, if I start something, I have to finish it no matter what. I didn’t play the level for months. I took a break from the game after beating “Bloodbath” and I got a good PC just a little while later for 2022 summer.
I counted the old attempts for this too because even after taking multiple breaks in between playing this level that lasted for several months, I was almost always able to play it just like it was yesterday. The muscle memory lasts for forever it seems. After getting 29%-100% randomly again on March 2023 I started to consider beating the level for real this time.
To put this level into perspective, just couple years ago my wish was to beat one Extreme Demon and that was “Cataclysm” which I thought to be pretty much impossible task. My wish became true. My dream lied elsewhere however. After my wish there was a dream and that dream would be to beat “Bloodbath”. My dream was also to be just as good as the legend himself Riot during the 1.9 era. Only he could beat that level, until he wasn’t the only one. Still to this day and even after beating “Bloodbath”, I think that it is the most influential level this game has ever seen. But then there was a level that was straight up impossible that was even harder than “Bloodbath”. That level was called “Sakupen Hell”, and it was totally impossible level for any human being. Until it wasn’t so impossible either… I guess nothing is truly undoable or unbeatable.
It goes without saying that this level is absolutely terrible. The moment I picked this up and started to take it seriously I was in both mental and physical pain. I wouldn’t even put my worst enemy through something like this. The countless attempts that ended before I could even say a word, the bushes, the dark blacks and hellish reds and flames… And then there’s the song, it’s insanity to repeat the same thing over and over again without any results. It’s torture.
One funny thing about this level is that it never gets 100% consistent. It feels like it doesn’t matter whether you are actually fully focusing on the level or something else, it doesn’t matter how hard or little your try, it doesn’t matter how long you decide to play the level, it’s all the same. The good runs just seem to happen randomly and out of nowhere.
I got incredibly unlucky (if there even is such thing as luck) with the middle part of this level. I didn’t think I had mental block or anything with this level, I know how it feels to have one. But I have no choice but to second guess myself because after I finally got to the last wave and failed at 83%, I beat the level 10 minutes after that. I wasn’t supposed to be playing that long, I was tired, stressed and still in shock from the 83% death. I can’t really explain it and I know I can’t give you the full picture, but it was truly a miracle I beat it that attempt.
Now do I have tips for this level; Don’t play it. Simple as that. It will be your personal purgatory, trust me. For real though I think I want to make a separate video detailing all the bad things about this level. I also want to share few useful tips and tricks for players who want to go for this for some reason. Look forward to it!
In conclusion this is the worst level I have ever beaten but also the hardest. It’s the hardest thing I have ever conquered and achieved in a game, at least for now or quite a while. I was scared of this level and now I’ve been scarred. “Sakupen Hell” sucked all joy and colour from my life and playing this game will never be the same any more. This level is literally the depiction of hell. I couldn’t be happier and I couldn’t be more relieved of course now that it’s done. Just for the record I have only been this emotional once before playing GD and that was when I beat “Bloodbath”. I didn’t think I would react like this but the victory was so unexpected and the feeling was totally overwhelming. While “Bloodbath” made me cry tears of joy, “Sakupen Hell” made me cry tears of joy mixed with high amounts of pain, agony and stress leaving my body all at once.
