This easy deep fried whole chicken recipe is going to give you one of the most delicious chicken dinners you have ever had. The chicken comes out buttery soft and is bursting with so much flavor your most picky eaters will be sure to ask for seconds. One of the greatest features of this easy dish is that you can feed a family of 4-6 for under $10! Grocery stores almost always have “fryer chickens” and “roasting chickens” on sale for around $1/pound so you can make this anytime on the cheap. Here are the spices I used to make my easy chicken rub:

Kosher Salt
Black Pepper
Paprika
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder

What oil temp do you use to deep fry a whole chicken:

You need to heat your oil up to 350 degrees.

How Long to deep fry a whole chicken:
You will deep fry your chicken for 5 minutes a pound plus 5 additional minutes. For example the oven roaster chicken I used in my video was 9 pounds, so I deep fried it for 45minutes+5Minutes for a total of 50 minutes in the fryer.

Once your time is up check your chicken with a meat thermometer and it should be 165 degrees. Now that the chicken is to temperature it is important to let it just sit and rest in the basket for about 10 minutes. This allows the chicken to relax and pull the moisture back into the meat.

On one side note when it was resting I tipped the basket to the side for a moment so that any extra oil could drain out of the cavity. This simple step I did not mention or catch on camera saves you a mess on your counter.
