This is a simulated beach noise that I have crafted with the following one-line command for SoX:

play -n synth brownnoise mix synth sine amod 0.08 8

It is a pure brown noise that cycles down to a volume of only 8% every 12.5 seconds before coming back up again. I find the effect quite similar to listening to the surf roll in and out at a nice calm beach. I've been enjoying playing the noise so much lately that I decided to upload it for others to enjoy.

Another small change I made to this video was to add another channel to the sound with a small offset so that there is a slight stereo sound effect that one would hear at an actual beach.

This noise works great by itself, or when combined with other relaxing noises that you enjoy. Perfect for meditation, focus, or even getting to sleep.

I encourage you to check out SoX ( http://sox.sourceforge.net ) and play around with the command yourself if you are interested. There are tons of variations and tweaks that could be applied to the sound to get it behaving just about any way you could want if you have enough imagination and patience.
