Defense Grid 2 has been officially funded on Kickstarter, thanks to an anonymous private investor. It looked like while an expansion for the original Defense Grid was going to happen, the Kickstarter had failed to raise the $1 million necessary to create a sequel.

The mystery investor changed that however, and development on Defense Grid 2 has begun. This video contains all the latest news and info on DG2, including some details on the gameplay, singleplayer and multiplayer mode and an idea of the release date.
