Delete an External Bank Account from Barclaycard App
1Removing an external bank account from the Barclaycard app is typically done by canceling the direct debit associated with that account. Once you cancel the direct debit, the external bank account will no longer be used for payments on your Barclaycard. This is useful if you're switching banks or updating your payment preferences.
Start by launching the Barclaycard mobile app on your device. Log in using your PIN or biometric login. Once you’ve accessed your account, navigate to the main menu and tap on Pay and Transfer.
Within this section, select Manage Your Payments, then tap on Manage Direct Debits. You’ll see a list of all your active direct debits along with the linked external bank accounts.
Find the specific direct debit associated with the external bank account you want to remove. Tap on it to view more details, and then proceed with the cancellation process as guided by the app. The app will provide a summary of what canceling the direct debit means, and you’ll be asked to confirm your decision.
Once you confirm, the direct debit will be canceled, and the external bank account will no longer be used to make payments on your Barclaycard. If you want to set up a new payment method, you can return to the Manage Payments section and add a new bank account or card.
Keep in mind that canceling a direct debit doesn’t clear any existing balances. You should make alternative arrangements for future payments to avoid missing due dates.
