Dell Inspiron 3670 Upgrading Downgrading Replacing CPU (read description) or Vostro
60Ok, so this video did not turn out perfect...there are some flaws. Well, I have been around enough computers to make things work. Here are two things this video does not state in the video, but you should know:
1) Removal of the shroud, was not done I used the perfect length Phillips #1 and also used #2 to remove the M3 screws securing the cpu fan, but it would have been easier to remove the shroud. This will also be helpful when reattaching. 2) Dell suggests removing the screws in the order noted on the motherboard (if you can actually read it). Quoting Dell, "Loosen the 4 x M3 screws in reverse order marked on the system board
NOTE: Remove the screws that secure the heat sink to the system board in the order of the callouts shown [1, 2, 3, 4]." You will use similar technique to reinstall the cpu fan.
It is noted that #1 Phillips is usually used to remove a M3 screw. This should clear this up and make the process easier.
