Dementium Remastered Playthrough (Direct 3DS Capture) - Part 1
This is part 1 of my capture of me playing through Dementium Remastered for the 3DS. This is not an emulator. This footage was captured directly from my New 3DS XL using the aftermarket capture kit manufactured by Katsukity and installed/sold by Merki. This is a downloadable title from Renegade Kid. I'm playing on normal difficulty.
About a year after Renegade Kid released the Moon remake for the 3DS, the company released a remake of its DS horror game, Dementium: The Ward. I enjoyed the Moon remake on the 3DS, so I decided to give the Dementium remake a shot as well. Unlike Moon Chronicles, Dementium Remastered was not released in an episodic format was just sold as a complete game from the start.
I had no prior experience with Dementium on the DS, but I was generally aware of the game and its sequel from online reviews and whatnot. However, despite my pleasant experience with Moon Chronicles, I quickly found that I wasn’t particularly happy with Dementium Remastered.
I didn’t like having to constantly switch between the flashlight and weapons, which limited my ability to shoot at a distance, and the simplistic, monotonous level design just didn’t sit well with me. When I first played this game on its release date, I couldn’t figure out how to beat the wheelchair boss, so I just gave up and didn’t play the game again until I started recording this playthrough. I know this game was only made by a few people, but I still don’t particularly care for it. However, I own it, and it makes for a good October-themed upload, so I’m posting it.
Aside from improved graphics and 3D effects, this remake features dedicated save points instead of just auto saving throughout the game. However, it does still auto save after you defeat a boss. Oddly, I discovered that while playing the game, I couldn’t really hear the heartbeat sound through the 3DS’s speakers, yet it came through incredibly loud in the recording. Since I figured this would be obnoxious, I simply disabled the heartbeat sound in the options menu.
In this first part I started a new save file and completed Chapters 1 and 2, and started Chapter 3.
Recorded with OBS Studio at 60 frames per second. I'm using a New 3DS XL with touch screen aiming.
