NOTE: It has been brought to my attention that I misspoke in the video: the first time at 7:40 and the second time at 7:55, and both times were about body form Executioner Miralda. I said something to the effect of "killing her does not affect WT" - I have no idea why but is absolutely incorrect: killing her when she is in body form will shift WT by "-3" but will have NO effect on character tendency. I hope that clears things up, and I apologize for meaning the opposite of what I said.

Welcome to Lord Fussington's Walkthrough of Demon's Souls, the first part of "Pure White World Tendency," and their events; the second and third parts will also have their respective uploading days - hopefully tomorrow and after tomorrow.

In today's video, I explain (Pure) White World Tendency whilst I complete the PWWT events that occur in Boletarian Palace and Stonefang Tunnel.

The events are as follows:

Boletarian Palace:

- The gate in 1-1 opens: there is a crystal gecko, BP dreglings, and Executioner Miralda in body form.
- Killing Executioner Miralda shifts WT by "-3" -- in other words, neutral; killing her will not affect character tendency. Also, she drops shit - the good kind.
- Don't forget to pick up the colourless demon's soul on the beam, and the Brushwood armour set at the bottom of Miralda's pit of death.
- Lastly, the red and blue dragons disappear.

Stonefang Tunnel:

- The Dragon Bone Smasher can now be accessed in 2-3.
- Scirvir, the Wanderer appears in the pit of 2-1; show him the Dragon Bone Smasher to receive a Pure Greystone. Also, killing him will shift WT by "-3" (i.e., back to neutral), but will also shift character tendency by "-2" - in other words, don't kill him on your first, and maybe even your second, playthrough.


For the sake of clarity, I'll reiterate in writing that which I said in the video:

There are five worlds, and each world has its own tendency; hence, "world tendency." When you first begin the game, all worlds have a neutral tendency (i.e., 0). But you can accumulate white and black world tendencies through your actions. I mention in the video that the tendencies can be viewed as a point system: gaining points means you're accumulating WWT and losing points means you're accumulating BWT.

The system:

To put it simply,

0 = Neutral
3 = Pure White World Tendency
-4 = Pure Black World Tendency

Additionally,

1, -1, and -2 = Neutral
2 = White World Tendency
-3 = Black World Tendency

Therefore, when we begin the game, the tendencies of all the worlds are at "0". To reach PWWT from "0", we must gain three points - a positive shift; to reach PBWT from "0", we must lose four points - a negative shift. To reach PWWT from PBWT, we must gain seven points; to reach PBWT from PWWT, we must lose seven points. So it's all rather simple, isn't it?

Accumulating WWT ("gaining points"):

- Killing Bosses and Dragons (+1 per boss/dragon).
- Killing the Black Phantom forms of Named NPCS (+3 per).
- There is one per world; they only appear in PBWT (i.e., -4).
- Killing Primeval Demons (+3 per).
- There is one per world; they appear in both PBWT and a shade less than that (i.e., -4, -3)
- Also, killing a Black Phantom that has invaded you or resurrecting a summoned Blue Phantom (+1 per).

Without going too much into BWT (since there will be videos on it), to lose points and accumulate black world tendency, you can die in body form in any given world; a death in body form is the equivalent of "-1" - the loss of a single point. That is why I commit suicide in the Nexus: the Nexus does not have a world tendency - it isn't a world.

Pros of WWT:

- Enemy hp, attack power and defense is decreased.
- The drop rate of healing items is higher.
- Attack power in soul form is increased.

Cons WWT:

- Infrequent and less valuable drops (except for healing items, apparently)
- Enemies are worth less souls.

Whew... I hope it's clear. Seriously - because if it isn't, I'm going to go play Mario Party.
