DemonStar - First Six Stages
DemonStar is property of Mountain King Studios. The composer of its soundtrack is Robert C. Prince III (also known as Bobby Prince). I own nothing in this video.
I love this overlooked gem of a game, it's always been one of my favorites ever since I was a kid. While it's definitely fun to play, my favorite thing about is the incredible soundtrack, which is why I often disable the sounds in the game so I can enjoy it even more as I have here.
In this video, I play through all six stages that are included in the shareware version of the game, most of which are my favorites out of all of them.
00:05 - First level, Outer Space. I got this one memorized fully, down to the very last asteroid! The music gives it such a sad or bittersweet vibe, too. It's fitting for the start of a very long journey to destroy the DemonStar.
04:00 - Second level, Desert Planet. Kind of a drastic change after the first level, more light-hearted in nature but equally fun to play through! It's our first time visiting an actual planet as well.
07:50 - Third level, Outer Space. This one is probably my favorite level in the game. I love the design of it but what I love even more is the emotional song that plays. There's just so much power to it.
12:17 - Four level, Fuel Refinery. I performed really badly in this one, and if there's something I hate, it's dying right before a boss battle since you lose all of your weapon bonuses. And that had to happen before one of the toughest bosses, too!
16:20 - Fifth level, Outer Space. I used to be really creeped out by this stage, and I still kind of am! One of the most unforgiving ones for sure, with a very ominous track that plays throughout it too.
20:45 - Sixth level, Ore Planet. This one has always been so much fun to play for me. Tons of stuff going on all at once, a rare Invulnerability pick-up in the middle of it, and a really catchy song to boot!
